Momella Gate - Mariakamba Hut (2,514 M) Hike

When arriving at Momella Gate of Arusha National Park (1,500 m.), park entrance formalities are completed before embarking on a guided hike with a park ranger. The trail crosses open grassland where buffalo, warthogs, and other grazers can be spotted. The journey then ascends steadily through montane forest.

Lunch is enjoyed near a large Fig Tree arch, followed by a continuation through a less dense forest area teeming with birds and black and white colobus monkeys. By mid-afternoon, breathtaking towering cliffs and the Ash Cone come into view. Miriakamba Hut (2,514 m.) is reached, nestled in a picturesque grassy clearing, offering a chance to soak in the late afternoon sun and admire the stunning vistas stretching towards Kilimanjaro. (4-6 hours walking).
